Unleased is a marketplace for lease takeovers and subleases. Renters find a place mid-lease and Claim Now or bid on rent, residents who need to move list their unit, and property managers approve every step.

The property. Every applicant is verified, and the property approves the replacement before the lease transfers.

A listing opens with a Claim Now price. Claim it and the place is yours, pending your application and the property's approval.

Listings then move into a transparent auction where you bid on monthly rent. You can see the current top offer, and you'll get an alert if you're outbid. You need a card on file to bid.

Browsing and bidding are free. If you win, any fees are shown clearly before you commit.

You complete a guided application with identity verification, a background check, and your documents. Once your property approves you, the lease transfers into your name and you move in.

Go to List my unit, find your lease, and submit a request with your move-out date. Once your property approves it, your unit is listed on Unleased.

There's a one-time listing fee, charged when you submit and shown before you pay. It's refunded if your unit is never listed.

On your move-out date. Complete your self inspection or in-person inspection by move-out day. Finishing early is great, but it doesn't change the date.

A plan properties can enroll in. If you have a qualifying life event and no replacement starts after your first 60 days, Unleased covers your eligible remaining base rent, subject to a one-time exit fee and program limits. Unleased is a relet service, not insurance.
